Boaters love docking in Palmetto

Palmetto is in Manatee County on the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway in south-west Florida. The city gained its name in the 19th-century from the Palmetto trees that used to dominate the area. Boaters can experience the development of Palmetto by visiting the Palmetto Historic District and the Palmetto Historical Park in the south of the city, which borders the Manatee River. Another of Palmetto’s key attractions is the Palmetto Estuary Preserve, which is located to the north of the Hernando de Soto Bridge and the Manatee River. It is where boaters can enjoy a 1.6 mile-long walking trail whilst observing stunning wild flowers and exotic bids.
